Block

Andrew is learning to talk and he learns new words everyday.  Sometimes when he tries to say a word, it ends up sounding like something else.  Sometimes the word that he says can be very inappropriate.  An example is his newest word "Block."  Yesterday he tried saying it for the first time, however it did not sound like "block" when he said it.  Replace the "bl" with a "c" and you have the word that Andrew was saying while he was playing with his blocks.  How do you not laugh hysterically when your toddler does this?

Angry Germs and Other Updates

Just some interesting stories since I haven't posted in a while.

Dave has been sick with a stomach bug and tried explaining to Sonia that she needed to stay away because he didn't want her to get his germs and get sick.  The next day, she asked me if "Daddy's germs were still angry."  Apparently when you get sick, you're germs get angry and you need to make them happy so you feel better again.

This happened a while ago, but it's just too funny to not share.  One day Andrew was climbing on Dave and Dave said that he couldn't take that kind of abuse.  I told Sonia to tell Dave to stop being such a drama queen.  She looked right at him and said "Daddy, stop being a pajama queen."  Now we call every pajama queens.

To include Andrew in this little update, a few weeks ago Dave and I were in the kitchen talking while I was getting my lunch ready for work.  Andrew was playing in the living room.  While we were talking, Andrew comes running up to the doorway, puts his arms out and yells "YA-TA."  He then just ran back to his toys.  I couldn't stop laughing because it was just like Hiro from Heroes and it was completely out of nowhere.

Sonia has been speaking to us in riddles.  When we ask her what she wants to eat, drink, watch on TV, etc., she responds with a riddle to lead us to the answer.  When she wants chocolate pudding, she says that she wants something brown, that you scoop, that's yummy.  When she wants cereal, she wants something in a bowl, that you scoop, that has milk on it.  These are just a few examples. As long as she can come up with a few things to describe the object, she will give us a riddle.

Sonia also has an amazing imagination.  This past weekend she was at my mom's for a visit.  She was playing and told everyone that the living room was full of snakewater.  The snakes have horrible tails and no feet and they ate all the alligators.  She was fighting the snakes with her sword (a plastic spoon) in one hand and carrying the princess (one of her dolls) to safety in the other hand.  She kept telling everyone that they had to keep their feet off the floor so the snakes wouldn't be able to get them.  She continued with this whole thing the next day when we went back to my mom's.

I guess that's enough for now.  I'll try to update sooner next time.
